Redeemed for A Cause Outreach

OUR FOUNDER

Dr. Sakinah Love

Redeemed for a Cause originated in the life of Sakinah Love, founder and CEO. Love always had a passion for working with women and girls. After years of serving this population, she was finally able to accept what truly connected her. At a young age, Love was a victim of human trafficking via tactics of coercion, fraud, and abuse by her ex-boyfriend whom she dated for eight years. In college, Love started a blog in light of her experiences. She wrote to channel her emotions, understand what she was facing, and ultimately realize how working to overcome would help others in time. Redeemed for a Cause slowly took shape through these blog posts.

Love is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she focuses her nonprofit efforts. Over the years, she educated herself on human trafficking and surrounding issues:

  • BS in Child/Adolescent Development and Special Education from Liberty University
  • MA in Human Services Counseling: Life Coaching from Liberty University
  • PhD in Human and Social Services: Disaster and Crisis from Walden University
  • CWC, Certified Wellness Coach
  • CPC, Certified Professional Coach

Love is extremely involved in the communities in and surrounding Philadelphia. She works at Rowan University in New Jersey as an Adjunct Professor where she teaches Introduction to Human Services. As a former substance abuse therapist, Love has experience with trauma-informed care and uses that expertise in her work with Redeemed for a Cause, leading workshops for human trafficking victims and survivors throughout the city and carrying out street outreach twice a month to identify and support potential human trafficking victims.
